Draft Sock Installation and Setup

Draft Sock is a program that allows leagues to host and complete their drafts in a quick and in efficient manner. Basically, it speeds up the process of drafting and incorporating those players into the league's rosters. Drafts that used to take all day, now take a matter of hours, if all goes well.

1.Go to the files link and click on Draft Sock. Be sure to save it somewhere where you can locate it, preferably on the desktop.

2.Once saved, go ahead and click on the "Setup" icon and follow the steps and let it install.

3.Once installed, locate the Draft Sock Client by going through Start->Programs->DraftSock.

4.Once you have located and opened the Client, you will need to load the files before you connect to the draft. To do so click on "Connect."

5. Once you've click on that, you will be prompted to load the league you will be using for the draft. In this case, it will obviously be DOFL. So navigate yourself to the most likely spot where those files will be located, which for most, if not all, is C:\SIERRA\FBPRO98. Once you have located the files, there is a box below. You will select your team. Once your team is selected, you will need to enter in the IP address of the Server. The Commissioner will provide the address approximately One hour before the draft. The address will be entered in the box below your team selection.

6. At this point, you will most likely have a blank screen. If all goes well, you will see up at the top your team name and a comment indicating that you are indeed connected to the server. To view the list of draftees, go to "View" and then select "Draftees." You will also need to go to "Chat" after having selected "Draftees" so that you can communicate with your fellow owners.

7. Assuming that you have clicked on both "Chat" and "Draftees," your screen will now look like this...

At this point, you will be ready to draft. As you can see by the screenshots, DraftSock allows you the abilities organize players by position, name and by overall ratings. Another benefit of Draftsock is that it will eliminate each player that is selected from the list of draft eligible players. That way, you don't have guys trying to pick a guy that was selected 30 picks ago,etc.
